The Return of American Ex

Friends, readers, Romans, and the interested,

I am Almost back. The novel nears it's end and once again I should have enough brain power to revive the blog. When I left, I expected to be posting the occasional article. It did not work out that way as I found I could not get my small head around both. This is my first novel. Perhaps eventually, I shall be able to write fiction and politically motivated articles, at the same time.

The world has not improved since I took off. In fact, it has gotten even worse and even more dangerous. Iraqi citizens are still being killed by the truck load, for the crime of being born Iraqi. The terrorist activities of the Americans, indiscriminate bombings, mass arrests, medieval torture prisons, and daily shootings of civilians, have turned a once stable society into bedlam.

Every thing in Iraq is much, much worse than before the Americans came to 'liberate' the place for American and corporate control.

The Bushbaby and his neocon supporters are still pretending there is a connection between Saddam and 9/11. Osama ben Laden is still free because there was never any real White House interest in getting the bastard. Bush and co. are too busy dismantling Iraq and turning it into the radical hotbed it never could have been, under Saddam.

Republicans and Bush appointees control every branch of government and the Supreme court, in one sitting has wiped out property rights for ordinary Americans, in favour of special corporate rights, allowing cities to make economic determinations for who may or may not own property in American cities.

At the same time the court gave AOL/Time Warner, the telephone companies, Disney, and big IT companies, content control of the internet, declaring that the big companies do not have to share broad band lines with anyone they don't want to share them with. Effectively giving the big IT giants control of of the 'net'. Soon, a server offering content the big companies don't like, will be blocked from broad band lines. That's freedom of expression, the New American style.

They couldn't quite make up their minds regarding state support of religious doctrine. But that isn't surprising, it was the only thing in this traitorous Court's agenda that did not put money and special rights into the hands of the big corporations, who now dictate American social and foreign policy.

Just when Americans of every walk were beginning to finally ask the hard questions regarding this corrupt president and his pro corporate, anti democratic agenda, Bush is saved by another terrorist attack, this time in London. The bombings could not have happened at a better time for Blair and Bush. It is difficult not to at least wonder who is actually directing some of these attacks.

What would Bush and the other neo-con chicken hawks do without Al Qaeda?

Suddenly, Carl Rove outing a deep cover CIA agent, for political revenge against her husband, is not front page news. A very serious crime committed for the most petty, most venal reasons. Because the agent's husband wrote a knowledgeable expose' of one of Bush's big lies, intended to justify his personal war ambitions. The African yellow cake uranium that Saddam never actually purchased. Once again, the 'intelligence' was fixed, to support the policy.

American soldiers are still being killed in Iraq and more and more, the old excuses for the Vietnam tragedy, are being dusted off to excuse staying with this dangerous unwinnable conflict.
Still, the VA can not nearly serve the needs of the returning wounded who are booted out of the Army hospitals as fast as possible, with the promise that the VA will take care of them.

Every week, the insurgency becomes stronger and every week, some White House liar repeats, the now tired old BS, that the insurgency is in it's death agonies.

Bush and his mouth pieces still describe their enemies in terms that clearly describe the policies and actions of the Bush regime

A good number of mindless Americans, hip deep in debt, working their asses off, for a future that looks bleaker every day, still pretend that this is like World War II, and America isn't really playing the role of the Germans and Imperial Japanese. After all, we are the good guys, no matter what we do, right?

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

The world has not improved since I started my novel, so I shall be back, at least once a week I have missed the blog and the responses from readers, of every opinion. I do wish the righties would speak up but they continue to be shy about speaking outside their own circle of believers.

For those who have wondered, I'm in the last twenty or so pages of the first draft of the novel. It has taken about three months to get this far. Yes, my readers here will be the first to know when it is published.

More to come...

Ha! The photo is a year old. Taken before I started sprouting again. The day I finish the first draft, this week sometime, I'm treating myself with a trip to the beauty parlor. To celebrate, with a haircut.

There's way too much weird crap happening to stay away any longer. :)

Welcome back--was glad to see we still are thinking along the same lines--many of your thoughts mirrored those in my own blog.

Keep us posted about the novel--and don't forget you promised me a link! :)

Thanks guys. Yes. Archie, I owe you a link. I was waiting to start a web site before dealing with links but the other writing has nixed the idea of a site right now. So, I will learn how to do links on this blogspot system and do 'the right thing'.

I'm soooo glad you're back, You speak my mind, but with a clarity that I lack.

And a heartfelt congrats on accomplishing so much in a scant three months! (And nice to see a pic to go with the written voice.)

Again, welcome back.

We should have let Saddam continue killing and torturing his people. What is wrong with us?
Midievel torture chambers is what the Americans found already existing in Iraq. Since when is putting underwear on someone's head mideivel?

Why does the ignorant always post anonymously? That's a real question. Why are you people so cowardly?

I suppose that's why young Republicans 'support' the war, as long as the darkies and the poor boys are doing the actual fighting.

Dishonesty and cowardliness does seem to be a hallmark of the American right.

Of course, this commenter is so clueless, I suppose it would be an embarrassment to attach a real name to such childish prattle.

First of all, The excuse, the utterly dishonest excuse, for going after Saddam, was his supposed involvement with nine eleven and his stockpile of weapons of mass destruction.

All of which was made up, a series of blatant lies to fulfill ambitions Bushboy had before coming to office.

Of course you probably have forgotten that the US helped put Saddam into power and supported his tactics, for years. Suddenly he's evil. And the US is wonderful, no matter what it does to the world.

Secondly, you twit, how does the torture chambers of Saddam justify the over flowing torture prisons the US has built all over Iraq and Afghanistan? Those torture chambers, after all given as reasons to do away with the bad man. Like yeah, when Saddam did it it was bad, evil and yes, a reason to take him and his regime down. When America tortures, on a much larger scale, that's good.

If you think putting someone's underwear on their head accurately describes the activities in those prisons, you are either woefully ignorant or an immoral shit who doesn't care. I suspect the later.

The problem with the American right and the American Christian right, is an absolute lack of a moral centre.

Your thinking is that of the utterly amoral.

No heart, no soul, no courage, no morals. No wonder you guys are always anonymous.

I would like to suggest that Anonymous, and those of Anonymous ilk, back up their ideology with action. Go enlist, ass hat - and THEN you can claim to support your troops and this war. If you're not willing to do that, you're nothing but an impotent hypocrite and need to go back to your hole. I've lost all patience with these twits.

Well, annymo, That is the standard weeny out. First it's the war in Iraq, you're ignorant comments did not get far so then you start on abut Ben Laden as though that had anything to do with Iraq. 9/11 had absolutely nothing, nada, zilch and zip to do with Iraq. Even your chickenhawk president said, some time ago, that he was no longer interested in Ben Laden, just after the beginning of the Iraq aggression.

Now, to be clear on this, I have zero love for religious fanatics, of any variety. Given the opportunity, I would happily pop a cap into that particular head.

But, the US is not seriously after Ben Laden, because attacking Iraq was planned, before Bush was even elected, the first time. 9/11 became the excuse for attacking a country that had no terrorist cells, no weapons of mass destruction, and no military capable of fighting a war. But, he had a lot of oil.

Bush said so, straight out, to one of his families biographers. He said all 'great presidents' had a war and he wanted to be remembered as a "great president" Iraq was going to be his great conquest.

When his handlers found out what he had said, the biographer, an old family friend, was fired and Bush people attempted to seize all of the biographers notes.

There are links to that story on this blog.

So, annymo, try harder. Give some real thought to your post next time. It may be hard but I have faith that you can do it, if you really try.

But keep in mind that the American Christian Taliban has no more credit than Islamic extremists, around here.

BTW, you may have noticed that people are puzzled that the military is having such problems meeting recruitment goals if so many Republicans claim to support the war. You only support sending the people that mean nothing to you, poor, black and brown. What a great American you are.

I'm so impressed by your courage and your words only patriotism. You got a bunch of those Jesus stickers and 'support the troops' magnets on your car? That is where patriotism ends for most of you anonymous repugs.

But come back, any time. Just try to be a little brighter. It's boring, crossing mental swords, with a guy who only has a pen knife.

Yes, and I'm proud of it. So, start puking nameless hero.

Your noble president was a long term AWOL too. Oh, but that's different. He was too special to be waisted in the rice patties with the "hicks, spics, and niggers" that have always done the fighting for the rich power and money hungry cowards, that start your criminal wars.

This hick says let the rich pigs do their own fighting.
Choke on it, eh.

I keep thinking I should disable anonymous posting but then we'd never hear from the Bush supporters who tend to be about as courageous as Chicken Hawk Bush, himself.
